Potter wasp.

Robber fly, Machimus sp.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Tue Nov 26, 2013 5:27 am This is a robber fly. It will kill anything that it can catch, including other robber flies. If you look closely you can see that it is enjoying a small snack. It is about 3/4 inch long so you have to get rather close to them.

Green Lacewing.
Category: My wildlife images | Posted: Sun Nov 24, 2013 5:48 am The Green lacewing is a friend of gardeners. The young eat more aphids than any other insect. They are number one. It is very small, it is only about 1/2 an inch long, so this is rather a close up.

A Cuckoo wasp.
